One word review.....Awesome. You need to buy the button for this which in total is considerably more than the regular type of disposal controller. This allowed us to mount the button inside the cabinet door without drilling another hole in the granite. Little more trouble to use it this way but my wife didn't want holes through the granite. Next time I'll build the house before getting the wife.
New disposer installation
During research for shopping and buying a disposer (new install) I noted that I would need to run power to under the sink and into the wall for it's control switch. Running the power to under the sink was easy but it was going to be a real pain to install and wire a switch on the wall near the sink. I found in one of the home supply stores an air type pressure switch that could be used for turning the disposer on/off from the sink top and this looked like a good solution. During more research I found this fiber-optic control unit that does the same job but I wouldn't have to worry about the sink-top pushbutton getting grimed/gunked up and sticking down the road.
Installation of the unit couldn't be simpler. Mount the unit out of the way under the sink and run the fiber-optic cable up to the sink-top pushbutton switch, plug the control unit in and then plug in the disposer and you're done....sweet.
I especially like the auto shut-off feature of the unit turning itself off...

Great upgrade from prior disposal switch. Small button in the counter and optic controller base is hidden from below. Used with Insinkerator disposal, it is not limited to use with a WasteKing
